Space Company Simulator – Update #7

Dear Space CEOs!

We know it’s been a while, but a fresh Space Company Simulator update is here with improvements and changes that will make your space missions go more smoothly.

The update contains an optimization upgrade, brand new contracts, and plenty of fixes. Check out the detailed changelog below!

Changelog:

📢 Features:

  • Added 7 new contracts
  • Added summaries of a contract’s objectives in a single sentence
  • Added a new round of optimizations, which should significantly increase frame rates

Changes:

  • Added more emails
  • Added the possibility to turn the Day/Night Mode off in the Settings, which can prevent some bugs related to it from appearing
  • Improved notification UX (user experience)
  • Improved University UX
  • Added quality of life improvements to GUI (game’s user interface)
  • Changed profits and penalties for completing contracts
  • Modified employee random leveling system (now based on the selected difficulty level)
  • Modified Skills related to employees leveling up
  • Changed the University’s learning time from days to turns
  • Improved employee skills descriptions
  • Removed the possibility to launch the departments menu from Mission Control window
  • Removed the possibility to launch the Conference Center menu with hotkey
  • Improved the University translations
  • Removed the button which restarted the game after losing the game
  • The effects of locked astronaut and manager traits are no longer visible

🔧 Fixes:

  • Improved the positioning of building markups so that they no longer block the view of other buildings
  • The second engine can now be placed in a rocket correctly
  • A notification now correctly appears in the Building mode when there’s a new building available to be built
  • Improved the Scholarships Perk description
  • Improved the font size—it now works well with bigger numbers
  • Fixed an issue with email content not fitting the window
  • Fixed an issue with text missing in contracts and emails
  • Fixed various localization issues
  • Fixed the bug with inability to add more astronauts to manned missions if one of them quit
  • Fixed the bug whereby the same astronaut could be sent on two manned missions at the same time
  • Improved the feature with astronaut skills efficiency
  • Fixed the issue with windows not closing
  • Fixed the camera view for Medium and Heavy rockets
  • Improved the achievement descriptions and their calculation method
  • Scrolling emails no longer scrolls the atlas of planets
  • Fixed worker morale (max 100)
  • Fixed the save window—it is now impossible to save the game without a name
  • Workers can no longer be sent to train the skill they already maxed out
  • It is now impossible to continue the game after going bankrupt
  • Removed the button for planning flights in missions not involving flights
  • Fixed the icon with the number of mails—a large quantity of emails is now displayed correctly
  • It is no longer possible to move the University progress bar by hand
  • Fixed an issue whereby new contracts were set for 0 turns
  • Corrected the email informing about the contract’s completion failure
  • The ‘Start Chain’ caption no longer disappears
  • Fixed issues related to loading a save during gameplay from the in-game menu (as opposed to loading it from the main menu)
  • Fixed an issue whereby too many windows appeared in the Assembly
  • Corrected several trait tooltips
  • Fixed issues with contract visibility
  • Added missing text to placeholders
  • Fixed an issue with blocked contracts
  • Added ‘Speed’ and ‘Altitude’ translations
  • Corrected various translation issues
  • Fixed an issue with the Mailbox window
  • Optimized Planet Atlas
  • Fixed Planet Atlas bugs related to the constant emerging of new orbits
  • Fixed Planet Atlas culling issue which could crash the game
  • Fixed additional black screen issues
  • Fixed an issue whereby skipping a significant amount of turns would crash the game
  • Fixed University tabs issues
  • Fixed an issue which prevented employees from being sent to advanced University courses
  • Fixed an issue with the displaying the Management Courses for astronauts in the University window
  • Fixed an issue with the blocked ‘Foreign Start’ contract after loading the save file (the contract no longer appears as ‘in progress’)
  • Improved the responsiveness of the astronaut assigning button
  • Fixed an issue whereby the value of gained points on the top of the window as well as the component names in the component creation would disappear when the ‘construct a building’ option was clicked twice
  • Positive employee traits are no longer displayed in red
  • Fixed an issue with the game freezing in the Investors window
  • Fixed an issue whereby it was possible to exploit the number of investors
  • Fixed an issue with incorrect calculation of unlocked and locked lobbyists
  • Fixed an issue with an incorrect calculation of the amount of components that are ready to be constructed
  • Fixed an issue whereby the cost and turn counter of components that are required to be built would reset after constructing the maximum amount of components
  • Added a tooltip notifying that it is impossible to construct a component
  • Added various other minor fixes
